Rezensionen
Hier die Fortsetzung meiner Rezi des Studioalbums „The Galactic Collective“. Wie ich dort schon erwähnte, wirkt die Live-Version dieses Albums wesentlich lebendiger, ja wuchtiger. Live ist halt live und hat eine andere Magie, als übereinandergeschichtete Einzel-Scheibchen am Studiorechner. So bleibt auch immer wieder Zeit für tolle Improvisationen welche mit Applaus, des Ohrenscheinlich etwas übersichtlichen Publikums, belohnt werden.
An der Songauswahl hat sich bis auf zwei Ausnahmen nix geändert: dem floydigen „Sky full of Stars“ schließt sich die Lana Lane Nummer „Capture the Sun“ (vom Red Planet Boulevard Album) an, welche dann ebenfalls in die schon bekannte „Astrology Prelude“ überleitet, diesmal gibt’s diese allerdings als komplette Suite. Abschließend gibt’s noch eine Premiere: „Into the Sunset“ gibt’s erstmals Live und als Suite auf die Ohren.
Was ich bei der Studiofassung noch bemäkelt habe wird diesmal vom Tisch gefegt: jetzt darf auch Norlanders bessere Hälfte, Lana Lane, öfter ans Mikro und gibt den Synthiewänden mehr Dynamik. Man muss nicht dazusagen, dass gerade die Lana Lane Nummern die heimlichen Höhepunkte dieser wieder liebe- und randvollen Veröffentlichung sind.
Die DVD präsentiert das Gehörte dann nochmals zum Nach-Gucken. Zwei volle Stunden gibt’s einen sichtlich motivierten Auftritt im Rahmen des „Rites of Spring Festival“ (außer „The Garden of the Moon“ ist Live aus Cleveland). Bildqualität und Kameraführung sind optimal, nur die Zwischenansagen zu den Songs nehmen dem ganzen ein bisl den Fluss. Der Sammler greift natürlich zu beiden Veröffentlichungen, der Erst- und Gelegenheits Norlander/Lane-Hörer greife lieber zur Live-Version.
